In a significant development under ‘Operation Chakravyuh’, authorities in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan, uncovered an illicit MD (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) production facility camouflaged within a grocery store and grain warehouse in the city center. The police seized drugs and raw materials valued at nearly Rs 5 crore during the operation. Acting on intelligence received by Station House Officer Shambhu Singh, a police team raided Nakoda Kirana on Waterworks Road after suspicions were raised about activities at the location.
Upon investigation, a hidden room was found within the warehouse emitting strong chemical fumes that caused eye irritation to the officers. Inside the concealed space, a fully operational drug manufacturing setup was discovered, along with a substantial quantity of MD drugs and production materials. The seized consignment, including 106 grams of pure MD and 114.750 kg of liquid chemicals, is estimated to be worth around Rs 5 crore.
The accused individuals, Dharmchand Mogra Jain and Rohit Mogra Jain, who were allegedly running the illegal operation under the guise of a grocery store, managed to escape before the police could apprehend them. Multiple teams are now conducting raids at suspected locations to locate and arrest the fugitives. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and the investigation has been entrusted to Arnod Police Station in-charge Shivlal. The successful execution of this operation was credited to the efforts of Pratapgarh Police Station in-charge Shambhu Singh, along with Constables Pankaj Bishnoi and Sanjay from the Circle Officer’s office.
