In Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh, police conducted a crackdown on drug trafficking under ‘Operation Chakravyuh’ and uncovered an illegal MDMA manufacturing unit hidden in the forests and hills of Baglia. The operation, led by Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, revealed the setup deep within the secluded area.
During a routine patrol on December 29, Hathunia Police Station Station House Officer (SHO) Udayveer Singh and his team spotted a fire burning on a hill along the Baglia–Takrawad road, prompting further investigation. Climbing the hill, the police team stumbled upon the illicit manufacturing unit concealed inside a plastic hut amid thick foliage.
Karim Ajmeri, a 21-year-old resident of Baglia, was caught attempting to flee during the raid, with 28.54 grams of illegal MDMA found in his possession. Karim admitted to guarding the factory under the instructions of Haroon Ajmeri, identified as the mastermind behind the operation.
Police seized a motorcycle and various drug manufacturing materials from the site. Haroon Ajmeri, a notorious drug trafficker with multiple NDPS Act cases against him in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, had his assets frozen previously but continued operating from remote forest areas. Authorities are conducting extensive raids to apprehend other suspects involved.
The operation involved a team led by SHO Udayveer Singh, including Assistant Sub-Inspector Bholuram and several constables. Investigations into the matter are ongoing to uncover further details.
