Afghan Police Bust Drug Lab in Laghman Province
Afghan counter-narcotics police have dismantled a drug processing lab and apprehended a suspect in Laghman province. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a facility in Mehtarlam district, seizing materials used for heroin production. The Afghan government continues its efforts to combat drug-related activities.
In a separate incident, a suspected drug smuggler was arrested in Takhar province while transporting illicit narcotics. The individual was caught with crystal methamphetamine and heroin production chemicals. The suspect is now in custody for further investigation.
Afghanistan has been intensifying its anti-narcotics operations, targeting trafficking networks and illegal markets. Recent seizures include 170 kg of opium poppy in Nimroz province and 225 kg of opium in Ghazni province. Efforts are ongoing to locate the individuals involved in these cases.
