Police in J&K’s Sopore sub-division uncovered a significant drug racket, leading to the arrest of a drug peddler and the seizure of a large quantity of psychotropic substances. The operation, carried out in the Tarzoo area, targeted Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh, who was actively involved in drug trafficking. A police statement revealed that 1,296 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus were seized from Sheikh’s residence.

An FIR was filed under the NDPS Act, and an investigation was promptly launched by the authorities. Search warrants were obtained, and a thorough search of the accused’s premises resulted in the recovery of the prohibited substance. The accused was apprehended on-site, and the contraband was confiscated following legal procedures.

Authorities are currently delving into the source of the drugs, as well as the broader network involved in the illicit trade. The police emphasized their commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety of the community, with more arrests and recoveries anticipated in the ongoing investigation.
