Police in Srinagar district have seized property valued at Rs 6 crores from notorious drug peddlers as part of their crackdown on drug trafficking. The action, carried out under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, involved attaching three immovable properties and a vehicle belonging to the offenders. The properties were identified as illegally acquired assets from drug trafficking activities.
Continuing their efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police attached assets belonging to three individuals involved in drug peddling. The properties included residential houses, shops, land, and a vehicle, with estimated values ranging from Rs 80 lakh to Rs 3.2 crores. These assets were linked to specific FIRs related to drug offenses at Police Station Khanyar.
The crackdown by Police Station Khanyar targeted individuals such as Nazir Ahmad Mir, Gulzar Ahmad Mir, and Zahid Manzoor Rather, who were found to be involved in drug trafficking. The seized properties, identified as proceeds from narcotics trafficking, are part of the police’s efforts to eliminate drug-related activities in the region. Srinagar Police affirmed their commitment to combating drug peddling and confiscating illegally acquired assets to create a drug-free society.
