Political Leaders Optimistic About Union Budget 2026-27 Prioritizing Farmers and Women

As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman prepares to present the Union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament, political leaders from various states are hopeful that the budget will focus on the welfare of farmers, women, and other societal segments. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak emphasized the inclusive nature of the upcoming budget, aiming for the holistic development of farmers, youth, women, and all sectors in the country, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India.

Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa echoed similar sentiments, expressing optimism that the budget would meet the expectations of the state and the nation at large. He highlighted the significance of supporting Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, ensuring that farmers, women, laborers, and every citizen receive their due share.

Additionally, BJP MP Naresh Bansal expressed confidence in Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s strategy, noting her past efforts to provide relief to various sections of society through budget allocations. Bansal anticipated a budget that would benefit farmers, women, the middle class, and other groups, with a specific focus on supporting MSMEs and enhancing the ease of doing business.

Meanwhile, BJD MP Sasmit Patra outlined expectations from the Union Budget, particularly emphasizing the needs of states like Odisha. Patra highlighted the importance of states receiving their rightful dues, especially in terms of special assistance due to frequent natural disasters. He also stressed the necessity for enhanced infrastructural development in areas such as national highways, railways, and connectivity, along with fair treatment regarding the revision of coal royalty.

Patra emphasized the importance of the budget reflecting a roadmap where the central government commits to providing more support to the states. He underscored Odisha’s requests for additional AIIMS hospitals and infrastructural development through national highways and railway projects, emphasizing the significance of the budget impacting the common man and accelerating India’s economic growth.

JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan expressed high expectations from the central budget in Bihar, citing the state’s historical challenges and recent progress in receiving increased central assistance. Ranjan highlighted the significant shift in central assistance to Bihar over the past 11 years compared to the previous government, emphasizing the need for continued support and development initiatives.
