Political activity in Bihar has heightened with talks of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar potentially moving to the Rajya Sabha. Posters advocating for Chirag Paswan to be the next Chief Minister have surfaced in Patna, put up by Lok Janshakti Party’s district president, Imam Ghazali. The posters depict Chirag Paswan wearing a crown and carry slogans endorsing him as Bihar’s future leader, emphasizing a shift towards a younger Chief Minister under the National Democratic Alliance.
This isn’t the first instance of supporters pushing for Chirag Paswan to lead Bihar. Previously, Arun Bharti, a Member of Parliament and Chirag Paswan’s brother-in-law, had expressed his support for Chirag’s leadership aspirations, though the final decision rests with the NDA. Chirag Paswan’s mother, Rajkumari Devi, has also publicly voiced her preference for him to become the Chief Minister, citing his potential to outperform Nitish Kumar.
As discussions swirl around potential successors to Nitish Kumar and the possibility of a female Chief Minister, Nishant Kumar, Nitish Kumar’s son, has entered politics by joining the Janata Dal (United). This move has led to calls from some party members for Nishant Kumar to be considered for the Chief Minister’s position. With Chirag Paswan’s name now in contention, the debate over Bihar’s next Chief Minister intensifies as political parties gear up for future developments in the state.
