The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana has been a relief for citizens nationwide by cutting electricity costs through a switch to solar power. In Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, the program has been a blessing, lowering electricity bills and promoting renewable energy. Solar panels on rooftops have met residents’ power needs while supporting clean energy initiatives.

Many beneficiaries have seen their electricity bills drop significantly, with some almost eliminated, leading to substantial monthly savings. Additionally, participants are earning by selling excess electricity back to the grid, enhancing energy independence and awareness of clean power. Paras Jain, a beneficiary, expressed relief, stating that worries about high electricity bills have diminished since joining the scheme.

Ramsahay Mishra, another beneficiary, shared that their monthly electricity expenses, previously Rs 5,000 to 6,000, have notably decreased after enrolling in the program, providing substantial benefits. Ranjit Basak, who installed solar panels with a government subsidy, saw his electricity bill drop by around 75%, thanking PM Modi and encouraging others to avail themselves of the scheme.

The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana aims to offer affordable, sustainable, and eco-friendly electricity to millions of families nationwide. The scheme provides attractive subsidies for solar panel installations, benefiting middle-class and low-income families the most.
