Actor Prateik Smita Patil honored his late grandfather, Shivajirao Patil, on his death anniversary with a touching post on social media. In the post, Prateik shared a childhood photo where he is seen sitting on his grandfather’s lap.
The picture shows young Prateik in a black suit with a white shirt and tie, while his grandfather, Shivajirao Patil, is dressed in a traditional kurta-pyjama, embracing his grandson. Prateik captioned the post with, “9 years ago July 22nd 2017 – Rest in power my hero.”
Shivajirao Girdhar Patil, Prateik’s grandfather, was a renowned politician and social activist from Maharashtra. He was honored with the Padma Bhushan for his significant contributions to public service. After the tragic loss of Smita Patil, Prateik’s mother, Shivajirao and his wife, Vidyatai Patil, played a crucial role in raising Prateik.
Prateik, the son of Raj Babbar and the late Smita Patil, often acknowledges his grandparents for instilling discipline and compassion in his life. Despite the absence of his mother, Prateik speaks fondly of the love and security provided by his grandparents during his upbringing.
On the professional front, Prateik gained recognition for his roles in films like ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ and ‘Dhobi Ghat’. His notable works include ‘Aarakshan’, ‘Chhichhore’, and ‘India Lockdown’.
