Pratika Rawal, a young Indian batter, shared her experience of making a memorable Test debut by scoring 63 runs in the second innings against Australia at the WACA Stadium. She expressed that she focused on enjoying the game without letting the pressure of her debut affect her performance. Rawal emphasized her love for Test cricket and her determination to contribute significantly to the team.
In a video released by BCCI Women on X, Rawal mentioned the challenges of Test cricket, highlighting how the format tests a player’s character, patience, and mindset, especially against top-quality bowling attacks. She acknowledged the demanding nature of Test matches and the need for players to rise to the occasion when facing formidable opponents.
Despite Rawal’s commendable half-century in the second innings, India could only set a target of 25 runs for Australia. The Australian team, led by Alyssa Healy, comfortably chased down the target in just 4.3 overs, securing a 10-wicket victory and winning the multi-format series 12-4.
