Actress Preity Zinta has shared her worries about the ongoing student protests in Delhi. She emphasized the importance of supporting students and advocating for educational reforms. Zinta cautioned against letting peaceful demonstrations be disrupted by what she termed as “anti-national elements” aiming to sow chaos.
In a social media post, Zinta highlighted the necessity of safeguarding the original purpose of the protests and encouraged constructive discussions among all involved parties. She stressed the significance of ensuring that student-led peaceful protests remain focused and not manipulated for ulterior motives.
Expressing apprehension about potential attempts to exploit student unrest, Zinta questioned the proliferation of hate and division online. She raised concerns about external forces seeking to capitalize on the frustration of students to incite discord within the country.
The actress reiterated her faith in democratic principles, the rule of law, and the government while advocating for meaningful dialogue. Zinta emphasized the need to eliminate any malicious intentions or hidden agendas from the ongoing protests to secure a positive future for the youth and uphold democracy.
Preity Zinta had previously extended her support to activist Sonam Wangchuk and the protesting students, urging the government to engage in substantive discussions before Wangchuk’s health deteriorated further due to his prolonged hunger strike. She emphasized the importance of Wangchuk’s well-being and the critical nature of the fight for India’s future and youth.
