President Droupadi Murmu wrapped up her five-day winter visit to Hyderabad and returned to Delhi on Monday. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, along with other officials, bid her farewell at Air Force Station, Hakeempet. During her stay, the President participated in various events, including inaugurating the National Conference for the Chairpersons of Public Service Commissions and addressing a conference on ‘Timeless Wisdom of Bharat: Pathways of Peace and Progress’. She also hosted an ‘At Home’ reception at Rashtrapati Nilayam, attended by dignitaries from both central and state governments. Rashtrapati Nilayam, where the President stays at least once a year, holds historical significance, having been the British Resident’s country house in 1860 before becoming the President’s retreat after Hyderabad’s accession to India in 1948.
