President Droupadi Murmu and Moldovan President Maia Sandu met at the Presidential Palace in Chisinau to review bilateral relations and explore ways to enhance cooperation. The meeting, attended by officials including Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs Sibi George, focused on strengthening ties between the two countries.
President Murmu received a warm welcome and a guard of honor before the meeting, marking the first-ever State Visit by an Indian President to Moldova. Both leaders engaged in productive discussions covering various aspects of their partnership, emphasizing the historic significance of the visit and the deepening friendship between India and Moldova.
During her visit, President Murmu will also meet with Moldova’s Parliament President Igor Grosu, engage with the Moldova-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, address a Business Forum, and interact with the Indian Community. The visit aims to elevate bilateral relations to a broader partnership, with opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, IT, and education.
