President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on her summer visit, starting Monday, which will include stops at the Army Training Command in Shimla and the convocation ceremony of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in Palampur. She will be staying at Rashtrapati Niwas, Mashobra, Shimla, during her visit from April 27 to May 1.
During her stay, on April 28, the President will attend a banquet hosted by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh at Lok Bhavan, Shimla. The following day, on April 29, she is scheduled to visit the Atal Tunnel as part of her itinerary.
On April 30, President Murmu will participate in the convocation ceremony of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in Palampur. Additionally, she will host an ‘At Home’ Reception at Rashtrapati Niwas, Mashobra, on the same day. Concluding her visit, on May 1, the President will visit the Army Training Command in Shimla before departing for Delhi.
The Rashtrapati Niwas at Mashobra, which opened to the public in April 2023, offers a complimentary bus service for tourists to the President’s summer retreat. This service, operated by the Himachal Road Transport Corporation, runs from the lift parking at Mall Road, Shimla, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Guide Ajay Bhardwaj mentioned that visitors can explore the 174-year-old Rashtrapati Niwas, its nature trails, lawns, and parks. Built in 1850 in European architectural style by the King of Koti, the Rashtrapati Niwas, formerly known as the Retreat Building, is one of India’s four existing presidential residences.
