President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are set to participate in a special event in Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district, on June 20, marking the completion of two years of the BJP-led Odisha government. The Chief Minister’s Office confirmed their attendance in an official statement, following a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan. The meeting focused on ensuring the smooth organization of the event, including security arrangements, facilities for attendees, and parking provisions.
CM Majhi, during the meeting, stressed the need for meticulous planning due to the presence of both the President and the Prime Minister at the event. He had extended the invitation to PM Modi during a recent visit to New Delhi. In light of the ongoing conflict in West Asia, celebrations for the government’s two-year milestone will be understated, as directed by CM Majhi. The emphasis will be on showcasing the state government’s accomplishments rather than hosting elaborate events.
The BJP secured its first victory in Odisha on June 12, 2024, after winning a majority in the 2024 Assembly elections, ending the 24-year rule of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
