President Droupadi Murmu of India is set to visit Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, for a two-day trip to witness the International Fleet Review (IFR). As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, she will oversee the ceremonial gathering of International Naval Delegations, Ships, Submarines, and Aircraft. The IFR 2026 will kick off with a Presidential Banquet followed by the review of a fleet comprising 70 ships from India and friendly nations.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice S. Abdul Nazeer (Retd) and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will also be in attendance at the Fleet Review. The event, which highlights maritime strength and cooperation, aims to showcase sovereign oversight. Notably, this event marks the third time India is hosting the IFR, with previous editions held in Mumbai in 2001 and Visakhapatnam in 2016.
The International Fleet Review will feature a display of warships, submarines, and aircraft from various friendly nations to demonstrate their capabilities. The focus will be on the INS Vikrant, a key attraction at the event, symbolizing India’s indigenous aircraft carrier. The Vikrant carrier battle group played a crucial role during Operation Sindoor, influencing the strategic posture in the northern Arabian Sea.
