President Donald Trump expressed deep personal significance as a major Palm Beach roadway was renamed President Donald J. Trump Boulevard. The boulevard, formerly known as Southern Boulevard, connects Palm Beach International Airport to Trump’s private club, Mar-a-Lago, following legislative approval by the Florida Legislature and local governments.
Florida State Representative Meg Weinberger, who sponsored the Bill, described the renaming as a tribute to courage, leadership, and patriotism. Trump, in turn, lauded Weinberger and Florida’s Republican leadership, emphasizing the importance of the dedication and expressing his honor at the gesture.
During the ceremony, Trump underscored his longstanding ties to Florida, highlighting over 40 years of involvement in the state. He credited Florida for its role in his political journey, citing Republican successes and the state’s governance model. Additionally, the event paid tribute to three Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputies who lost their lives in a crash last year.
President Trump emphasized the significance of the new boulevard sign, not just as a personal recognition but as a symbol of pride for the nation and Florida. He expressed gratitude for the support from legislators and local officials, calling the day a remarkable moment in a remarkable place.
