In a tragic incident in Telangana’s Jangaon district, a priest father-son duo died by suicide by jumping into a temple pond in Bandlagudem village. The deceased, Lakshminarasimha Charyulu and his son Pawan Kumar Charyulu, were working as priests at the Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple. Locals discovered their bodies in the pond and informed the police, who then moved the bodies to a government hospital for autopsy.
Authorities suspect that financial and family issues led the priests to take this extreme step, following a preliminary investigation. The tragic event occurred a month after Lakshminarasimha Charyulu’s wife, Sridevi, passed away due to health-related problems. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter to uncover more details surrounding the incident.
Meanwhile, in Khammam district, a woman named R. Meenakshi was found dead in her house in Gol Thanda, with her relatives alleging that her husband, R. Shivaji, murdered her for insurance money. Meenakshi, aged 28, was discovered hanging in her residence in Thirumalayapalem on the outskirts of Khammam town. The police took R. Shivaji into custody after an old video surfaced, showing him allegedly assaulting her.
Meenakshi’s family members claimed that Shivaji had killed her to benefit from an Rs 80 lakh insurance policy in her name. They accused him of regularly abusing and mistreating her, with the intention of staging her death as a suicide. A video emerged showing Shivaji hitting Meenakshi with a belt, while she was restrained, and their child could be heard crying in the background. The police, who have launched an investigation, are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the nature of Meenakshi’s death.
