Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the 350th Shaheedi Samagam of “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji” in Navi Mumbai. He honored the revered Guru, known as “Hind di Chadar,” emphasizing the significance of participating in this historic event. Modi highlighted India’s history of bravery, harmony, and cooperation, noting the importance of social unity during the time of the Gurus.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for social unity in present-day India, drawing parallels to the unity fostered by traditions like the “Guru Nanak Naam-leva Sangat” of “Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.” He commended the large turnout at the event, attributing it to the enduring blessings of the Gurus and Saints on the nation. Modi described the Shaheedi Samagam as a continuous journey that has now reached a pivotal stage in Navi Mumbai after starting in Nagpur and progressing through “Takht Sri Hazur Sahib” in Nanded.
Acknowledging the efforts to spread the teachings of “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji” across Maharashtra, the Prime Minister praised the Government of Maharashtra for organizing the program. He also highlighted the government’s initiatives related to Sikh history and community welfare, including steps taken to ensure the safety and progress of Sikh communities both within India and abroad. Modi emphasized the importance of upholding the values of courage and truth embodied by historical figures like “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji” in shaping a brighter future.
