Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to a large gathering of the Indian community in Paris, receiving a warm welcome upon his arrival. The Ministry of External Affairs mentioned that the community in France showed great affection, chanting slogans like “Modi, Modi” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
During his address, PM Modi highlighted the significant contributions of the Indian community in various fields in France. He also recognized their role in connecting Indian innovation with global markets and strengthening the India–France Special Global Strategic Partnership.
PM Modi emphasized the expansion of people-to-people ties between India and France, with more Indian students, professionals, and tourists choosing France as a destination. He appreciated the efforts to enhance mobility and spoke about the increasing presence of UPI in France, aiming to boost tourism between the two countries.
The Prime Minister discussed transformative changes in India, including inclusive growth, women-led development, and advancements in human-centric AI and frontier technologies. He mentioned lifting 250 million people out of poverty in the last 12 years and highlighted the new opportunities for Indian workers, farmers, and innovators through trade agreements with the UK and the EU.
PM Modi also mentioned India’s participation in technology events like Bharat Innovates 2026 and VivaTech 2026, positioning India as a preferred technology partner globally. He underlined the success of the ‘Bharat Innovates program’ as a model of innovation diplomacy and shared insights from his involvement in the G7 Summit in Evian, emphasizing India’s commitment to trust-based international partnerships.
The interaction between PM Modi and the Indian diaspora showcased the strong people-to-people bonds between India and France, reflecting India’s dedication to the welfare and engagement of its diaspora worldwide.
