Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government’s focus on “Act East, Act Fast, and Act First” over the past 12 years to boost Northeastern region development. He praised the Tripura Global Pineapple Festival for promoting the state’s unique pineapples domestically and internationally.
A three-day festival and exhibition showcasing Tripura’s pineapples kicked off at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, along with other state officials, attended the inaugural function of the festival, aiming to highlight the region’s agricultural strengths.
PM Modi commended the initiative to exhibit Tripura’s renowned ‘Queen Pineapple’ at the festival. He mentioned the importance of collaborations among farmers, exporters, and policymakers to enhance value chains and create more opportunities for farmers. Modi expressed confidence in Tripura becoming a global hub for premium pineapples through such efforts.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the warmth and support of the people of Tripura and reiterated the government’s commitment to the region’s growth. He hoped that the festival would elevate the international recognition of Tripura’s ‘Queen Pineapple’ and boost trade and investment, ultimately benefiting the state’s farmers.
