Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three new Amrit Bharat Express trains and a passenger service for Kerala from Thiruvananthapuram. The new trains aim to enhance rail travel and connectivity between states and regions. The Amrit Bharat Express trains will operate on the Nagercoil-Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram-Tambaram, and Thiruvananthapuram-Charlapalli routes.
The PM also flagged off a passenger train service between Thrissur and Guruvayur. These trains, including the Amrit Bharat Expresses and the passenger train, will be managed by the Southern Railway. The routes of these trains cover key industrial, educational, and medical hubs, providing essential connectivity to various cities.
The Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed to offer improved amenities and safety features at affordable fares. Passengers praised the trains for their spacious coaches, comfortable berths, and additional facilities like CCTV cameras, phone chargers, and informative announcements. The new services aim to bridge the gap between regular and premium train services, focusing on inclusive growth through accessible rail travel.
