Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted enthusiastically by the Indian diaspora in Nice, France, with chants of “Modi Modi” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai.” The welcoming crowd showcased energetic performances of Kathak, Odissi, and Bharatanatyam. PM Modi expressed gratitude for the warm reception, emphasizing the enduring bond between the diaspora and India despite the distance.
Upon his arrival at the airport, PM Modi was received by various dignitaries including French Minister Philippe Baptiste, Secretary General Patrick Amoussou-Adeble, Ambassador Thierry Mathou, and Mayor Eric Ciotti. Indian Ambassador Sanjeev Singla was also present to welcome the Prime Minister.
The visit to Nice, France, marks the initial leg of PM Modi’s two-nation tour. Tomorrow, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, he will inaugurate “Bharat Innovate 2026.” This visit aims to strengthen India’s relationships with key partners through bilateral and multilateral engagements.
During his stay in France, PM Modi is scheduled to hold talks with President Macron to review the comprehensive bilateral relationship. The visit underscores the strong innovation partnership between India and France, particularly during the ‘India-France Year of Innovation.’
Prime Minister Modi will further participate in the G7 Summit in Evian, France, on June 16-17, at the invitation of President Macron. This summit signifies the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two nations, focusing on innovation, technology, economy, and cultural ties.
