Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on Saturday to unveil a series of significant infrastructure and development initiatives. In Rajasthan, projects worth about Rs 1.06 lakh crore will be launched, including the inauguration of Jaipur Metro Phase-2 and India’s first semiconductor assembly and testing facility in Gujarat.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will kick off the day by inaugurating the terminal building at Jodhpur Airport and launching a revised aviation scheme. He will then head to Balotra to dedicate and lay the foundation stones for various development projects valued at approximately Rs 1.06 lakh crore, followed by addressing a public gathering.
In Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Rail Project Phase-2 during the inauguration of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Refinery at Pachpadra in Balotra. This expansion project aims to enhance urban mobility by connecting key areas in Jaipur through a 41-km North-South Metro corridor, benefiting industrial, commercial, and residential zones.
The Phase-2 corridor will feature 36 metro stations, facilitating seamless connectivity between Jaipur’s industrial hubs and major residential and commercial centers. The project will be executed by the Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRCL), a joint venture between the Union government and the Rajasthan government.
Moving on to Gujarat, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) plant in Sanand, Ahmedabad. This marks the beginning of commercial production at one of India’s initial semiconductor assembly and testing facilities established under the ‘India Semiconductor Mission.’
Upon arrival in Sanand, Prime Minister Modi will address a gathering after completing his engagements in Rajasthan. The CG Semi OSAT facility, developed with an investment exceeding Rs 7,500 crore, offers comprehensive semiconductor assembly and testing services, including wafer sorting, assembly, testing, and logistics support.
