Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed that more than 3,75,000 Indians have returned safely to India from West Asia, including around 1,000 from Iran. He emphasized the government’s commitment to assisting those in need, especially the approximately one crore Indians residing and working in Gulf countries.
Highlighting the significance of West Asia for India due to the large Indian population and crew members in the region, PM Modi assured that every Indian affected by the conflict has received necessary support. He personally engaged with leaders of West Asian nations to ensure the safety of Indians and emphasized the continuous assistance provided by Indian missions in the affected countries.
PM Modi expressed his concern for those who lost their lives or were injured during the conflict, stating that families are receiving support and the injured are receiving the best possible treatment. He mentioned the safe return of Indian citizens, including medical students, from Iran and the cancellation of CBSE examinations in Indian schools in Gulf countries to ensure uninterrupted education for students.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to the safety and security of Indians in crisis situations, PM Modi affirmed readiness to provide any necessary assistance to those affected.
