Priyadarshini Hakim, daughter of West Bengal Minister and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, has returned to Kolkata from Saudi Arabia after completing Umrah. She expressed relief at being back home while acknowledging the challenges faced by many Indians still stranded in the region due to the ongoing West Asia crisis.
Upon her return, Hakim mentioned that her family had traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan. Despite the peaceful atmosphere during their visit, they later learned about the outbreak of war in the region.
Hakim shared her concern for those who are unable to return, citing instances where friends from Kolkata and Dubai were facing difficulties securing tickets. She emphasized the importance of performing Umrah during Ramadan and the significance it holds for their family.
Despite the unsettling news of violence in the region, Hakim highlighted their efforts to remain calm and grounded in their faith. She recounted her daughter’s reaction to reports of war-related incidents, expressing the emotional impact it had on the child.
Hakim reassured her daughter and maintained communication with friends still awaiting flights back to India, underscoring the challenges faced by those stranded abroad.
