The shooting for director Aswin Kandasamy’s romantic fantasy drama ‘Double Occupancy’ (DO) has been completed, as announced by the film’s makers. Produced by Avni Movies in collaboration with Benzz Media, the project has now entered its final post-production phase. ‘Double Occupancy’ aims to blend tender romance with imaginative fantasy and contemporary reflections on identity, pushing the boundaries of mainstream Tamil cinema with its unique premise and emotionally resonant storytelling.
The film, set for release soon, delves into themes of identity, duality, science versus faith, and the complexities of loving someone in two different forms. Santhosh of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ fame and Reshma Venkatesh lead the cast, supported by Vinoth Kishan and Samyuktha Viswanath in pivotal roles. Samyuktha’s character adds charm and emotional depth to the film’s fantastical elements, paired opposite Santhosh.
Notable actors VTV Ganesh and Bagavathi Perumal also feature in the film. Director Aswin Kandasamy, known for his work with leading production houses, makes his directorial debut with ‘Double Occupancy.’ The film boasts cinematography by Santhakumar Chakravarthy, music by Sam CS, editing by Praveen Antony, and production design by Senthil Raghavan, with costumes by Sruthi R. Kannan.
