Hundreds of people, including political workers and traders, staged a protest rally in Panjgur town, Balochistan, denouncing the rising incidents of kidnappings for ransom and the deteriorating law and order situation. The rally, organized by All Parties Citizen Action Committee of Makran (APCAM), aimed to highlight the recent abduction of Gul Jan Rind and others in Panjgur district. Protesters gathered at Panjgur’s Main Bismillah Chowk, carrying banners with demands and anti-government slogans.
APCACM Chairman Nawab Shambay Zai, along with other leaders like BNP’s Mir Nazir Ahmed Baloch and National Party’s Mujeeb Rehman, led the demonstration. They called on the government and law enforcement agencies to promptly secure the release of Shah Nawaz Gul and other abducted individuals. The leaders questioned the authorities’ failure to track the victims’ mobile phones despite available technology and demanded the immediate apprehension of the perpetrators responsible for the abductions.
A human rights organization recently expressed concern over the enforced disappearance of two Baloch civilians in Kharan city. Baloch Voice for Justice reported that Munib Baloch, a student and shop worker, was taken from his shop, while Mughfar Abid, a daily wage laborer, was also abducted from the same area. The organization highlighted a troubling trend of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and urged the state to reveal the whereabouts of the missing individuals for their safety.
