Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for his stance on temple construction. Dhillon questioned Kejriwal’s credibility in discussing temple construction in Punjab, citing his past opposition to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He accused Kejriwal of using Hinduism for electoral gains, labeling it as “election-time Hinduism.”
Dhillon highlighted Kejriwal’s recent emphasis on Hinduism and temples during his Punjab visit as politically motivated. He alleged that Kejriwal’s references to Sanatan Dharma and temples were merely for electoral purposes. According to Dhillon, the people of Punjab have recognized this political strategy as hypocrisy.
The BJP chief further criticized Kejriwal for his absence at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. Dhillon accused Kejriwal of attempting to appeal to the Hindu community in Punjab despite his previous actions. He questioned Kejriwal’s knowledge of Hindu scriptures, especially considering past controversial remarks made by the AAP leader.
Dhillon challenged Kejriwal to account for his government’s efforts in developing temples or Hindu religious institutions during his tenure in Delhi. He called for Kejriwal to justify his actions before making promises in Punjab. Dhillon emphasized that exploiting religious sentiments for political gain would not be accepted by the people of Punjab.
