Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has called on the state government to swiftly disburse pending dearness allowance (DA) and arrears to employees and pensioners. The Punjab and Haryana High Court’s refusal to stay the payment orders has prompted this appeal. Jakhar emphasized that DA is a rightful due, not a favor, for employees.

Jakhar criticized the delay in disbursing DA, citing the BJP’s quick action in West Bengal after coming to power. He highlighted the disparity in DA percentages between Punjab and other regions, urging the government to prioritize employees’ welfare. The BJP leader assured employees of prompt DA provision if the party assumes power in Punjab.

Jakhar underscored the government’s obligation to release DA without further delay, pointing out the significant sums being spent on advertisements while dues remain unpaid. He criticized the government for challenging the provision of DA, stressing that employees deserve timely payments. Jakhar vowed to address the issue and safeguard employee interests if the BJP wins in Punjab.
