Punjab BJP working President Ashwani Sharma highlighted that Guru Ravidas’ teachings offer spiritual guidance and a blueprint for an ideal society. Speaking at an event in Chandigarh commemorating Guru Ravidas’ 649th birth anniversary, Sharma, alongside SC Morcha BJP State President S.R. Laddhar, stressed the relevance of Guru Ravidas’ teachings in today’s Punjab.
Sharma pointed out the significance of the term ‘Begumpura’ from Guru Ravidas’ teachings, especially in the context of Punjab’s current challenges. He expressed concerns over the deteriorating law-and-order situation, drug issues among youth, and the general sense of insecurity prevailing in the state. Sharma emphasized the need to embrace Guru Ravidas’ principles to address social divides and ensure equality in society.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government launched year-long celebrations for the upcoming 650th Guru Purab, underscoring a commitment to Guru Ravidas’ legacy. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated various religious, cultural, and academic initiatives as part of the commemorative events. These initiatives include congregations, seminars, and infrastructure projects aimed at honoring Guru Ravidas’ teachings and promoting public welfare in the state.
