Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar criticized the vandalism of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statue in Hoshiarpur district and called for immediate government intervention. He warned against external forces inciting unrest in Punjab and targeting police stations, emphasizing the need for communal harmony. Jakhar expressed disappointment in the Punjab government’s response, citing a failure to address security challenges effectively.

The BJP leader denounced the damage to Ambedkar’s statue as a reflection of governance lapses in Punjab, highlighting a concerning trend of escalating attacks on public symbols. He urged all Punjabis to resist divisive influences and uphold unity in the face of such provocations. Additionally, Jakhar criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for prioritizing political engagements over addressing the state’s security issues.

Paramjit Singh Kainth, President of BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, raised alarm over the repeated desecration of Ambedkar’s statues, questioning the government’s ability to safeguard national icons and preserve social cohesion. The recent incident in Noorpur Jattan village underscored the deteriorating law and order situation under the Aam Aadmi Party administration in Punjab. Kainth emphasized the urgent need for restoring respect for revered figures and ensuring public safety.
