Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government for failing to fulfill its promise of eradicating drugs from Punjab within four and a half years. Dhillon highlighted that instead of a reduction, the drug flow in the state has significantly increased.
Dhillon pointed out that despite Arvind Kejriwal’s assurance before the elections that drugs would be eliminated within three months, the situation has worsened over time. He emphasized that the government’s efforts against drug abuse have been ineffective, with many youths still falling victim to drugs.
The arrest of the Deputy Superintendent of Hoshiarpur (Jail) was cited by Dhillon as evidence of the government’s failure, noting the open sale of drugs within prisons. He criticized the government for its lack of action despite the visible issues, such as the unrestricted use of mobile phones in jails.
Punjab’s current challenges, including gang violence, drug problems, unemployment, and deteriorating law and order, were highlighted by Dhillon. He criticized the Chief Minister for being absent from the state while BJP-governed states witness significant progress. Dhillon also mentioned the decline in Punjab’s development ranking and emphasized the need for a BJP government to restore prosperity in the state.
