Punjab BJP President, Sunil Jakhar, pointed out that the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) actions in Mohali have revealed internal rifts within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Jakhar criticized AAP, stating that while their infighting is internal, they often blame the BJP when members leave the party. He emphasized that the ED investigation is ongoing, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s swift denial of involvement following the ED raids in Mohali has shed light on his relationship with Punjab AAP President Aman Arora.
Jakhar highlighted the perceived closeness between Chief Minister Mann and Aman Arora, evident during a recent Cabinet meeting and subsequent blame-shifting towards the BJP by the Chief Minister whenever AAP members depart. The Punjab BJP President noted that Mann’s recent statement underscores the deepening divides within the AAP, suggesting that the Chief Minister may be averse to potential leadership challenges within the party. Referring to a Cabinet meeting on May 1, Jakhar mentioned the reported humiliation of Aman Arora and Sanjeev Arora by Chief Minister Mann.
He further pointed out that despite AAP leaders denying connections to individuals involved in the ED raid, emerging evidence suggests links between these individuals and AAP members, including the Chief Minister’s Office. Jakhar emphasized Punjab’s growing demand for accountability regarding alleged corruption over the past four years. Following ED searches on real estate developers, Punjab Minister Aman Arora accused the BJP-led Central government of orchestrating a politically motivated campaign to tarnish his image through fabricated stories and misuse of Central agencies, labeling it as a tactic to target political opponents before state elections.
