Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar raised concerns over the differing treatment in forensic examinations by Punjab Police. While former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi received a quick clean chit after a forensic examination of her video, Jakhar questioned why a similar examination was not promptly conducted for a video related to the Chief Minister. He emphasized the need for transparency and swift investigations in such matters.
Jakhar challenged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to either resign or initiate an immediate investigation into a video circulating about him to prove his innocence conclusively. He highlighted the importance of timely and thorough examinations in maintaining public trust and accountability in governance.
The state BJP President criticized the delay in investigating other audio-video clips circulating in society, pointing out the need for comprehensive scrutiny in all such cases. He emphasized the significance of context in understanding statements made by public figures and urged for a fair and expeditious investigative process.
Continuing his critique, Jakhar highlighted the need for the government to address issues of law and order, drug problems, and corruption in Punjab. He announced plans for the party to protest at the Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh on January 16 to demand accountability and action on these pressing concerns.
