Amid concerns over the Gulf conflict sparking rumors of LPG cylinder shortages, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann assured on Thursday that the state government is vigilantly monitoring the situation to prevent any inconvenience to the public. Chief Minister Mann emphasized that the government is prepared to tackle any panic buying, hoarding, or exploitation of consumers. He highlighted that the ongoing tensions in the Gulf region have triggered false alarms of an LPG scarcity across India, causing unnecessary worry among the populace.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Punjab government is on high alert and closely overseeing the scenario to ensure a continuous supply of essential goods without disruptions. He directed all Deputy Commissioners to maintain ample stocks of essential items to avoid any inconvenience to the residents. Chief Minister Mann sternly warned against any attempts to take advantage of the situation, stating that strict actions will be taken against those engaging in panic-inducing activities or manipulating essential supplies.
Addressing concerns of black marketing and price gouging, Chief Minister Mann reiterated a zero-tolerance policy, stating that any malpractice related to LPG cylinders will face severe consequences. He stressed the importance of keeping a vigilant eye on market activities to prevent any unfair practices. Additionally, he informed that he has raised the issue with the Union government to ensure a steady supply of LPG cylinders, guaranteeing that the public will not face any hardships in the foreseeable future. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting citizens’ interests and ensuring the availability of essential commodities to the public.
