Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann revealed evidence uncovering a plot involving a fake video circulated on social media to tarnish his image on religious grounds. Displaying videos and materials in Mohali, he disclosed that a mask resembling him was used to create the fabricated video. The Chief Minister identified Jagman Samra, based in Canada, as the individual behind the video shot with the mask.
He clarified that the fake video was recorded in a Canadian hotel, a place he has not visited since 2016. Additionally, he mentioned that the mask was handed to Samra in a car, and Samra was later seen holding it. Chief Minister Mann pointed out that the video clearly showed the mask, lacking his neck surgery scar, and assured that the creators of the fake video would be exposed after verification.
The Chief Minister announced that the issue would be brought before the Akal Takht along with the evidence. He expressed concern over the circulation of a fake video featuring him for several days, emphasizing that it was orchestrated for political gain. Chief Minister Mann defended his government’s initiatives for the welfare of Punjab’s people, highlighting various decisions made by the Aam Aadmi Party.
Questioning the role of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the Chief Minister criticized the selective targeting of individuals and the lack of action against others. He reiterated his respect for the Akal Takht and stated his willingness to comply with its directives.
