Punjab Kings have been boosted with the arrival of Australian players Marcus Stoinis and Cooper Connolly ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026. The duo joined their teammates at the New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, receiving a warm welcome from the franchise.

The addition of Stoinis and Connolly brings strength to the Punjab lineup, combining international experience with emerging talent as the team gears up for the new season. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings, who were runners-up in the previous edition, are intensifying their training as they approach the final phase of preparations.

Looking ahead to the 19th edition of the IPL, Punjab Kings are focused on improving their performance after finishing as runners-up in 2025. The team, scheduled to play 14 league matches, is set to kick off their campaign against the Gujarat Titans on April 31. Expressing optimism, Iyer emphasized the team’s goal of clinching the trophy during the jersey unveiling event.

During the initial practice session, head coach Ricky Ponting emphasized the importance of embracing mistakes while maintaining commitment to the process. Ponting stressed the significance of preparation, clarity in roles, and belief in the team’s strategy as they gear up for the upcoming tournament. The team is currently focused on readiness and unity, aiming to replicate past success as a cohesive unit.
