Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema revealed that sanitation workers in various urban areas of the state have decided to halt their strike following discussions with the government. A delegation from the workers’ committee engaged in talks with government officials to address their demands. The government and union representatives agreed to form a committee to address pending issues and find lasting solutions.
After thorough deliberations, all unions have agreed to allow the government time to address their concerns in a systematic manner. Minister Cheema criticized Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for labeling Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as an ISI agent, calling it an affront to the people of Punjab. He questioned the BJP’s motives behind such accusations and highlighted their alleged anti-Punjab stance.
Cheema emphasized that baseless allegations for political gain were being made by BJP leaders. He pointed out the silence of BJP figures during the previous Congress government regarding security concerns. The minister condemned the derogatory remarks made against Chief Minister Mann, stating that they insult not only the Chief Minister but the entire population of Punjab.
