The Foreign Ministers of Australia, Japan, and the US will visit New Delhi for the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on May 26. This meeting signifies the ongoing high-level engagement among Quad partners and their commitment to a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. Discussions will focus on advancing cooperation across various priority areas and reviewing progress on existing initiatives.
The Ministers will discuss key areas such as maritime security, supply chain resilience, infrastructure development, technology, climate action, and humanitarian assistance. They will also assess ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing regional stability and economic growth. Additionally, bilateral meetings with Indian officials and a call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi are scheduled during their visit.
The Quad meeting is crucial as member countries aim to strengthen cooperation amidst evolving Indo-Pacific geopolitical dynamics. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the desire to enhance energy ties with India and deepen Quad coordination. Rubio praised India as a valuable ally and partner, especially in light of global supply disruptions related to the Strait of Hormuz.
