Actor and director Radhakrishnan Parthiban has expressed regret for a comment he made about Trisha during a recent awards event. Parthiban clarified in an audio clip shared on his timeline that the comment was unintentional. He mentioned that the comment was made in response to a prompt during a rapid-fire session at the Galatta awards event, where Trisha’s picture was displayed.
Parthiban explained that the audience suggested the name ‘Kundavai,’ a character played by Trisha in the film ‘Ponniyin Selvan,’ leading him to make a wordplay comment. However, upon reflection, he acknowledged that the comment could have been avoided. Parthiban emphasized his commitment to promoting women’s freedom and expressed regret for any unintended hurt caused by his remark.
Trisha, in response, criticized the use of her name and image at the event, highlighting that it was done without her consent. She condemned the derogatory remarks made about her and emphasized that intelligence and humor are not defined by a microphone. Trisha stressed that disrespectful comments reflect poorly on the speaker rather than the target.
