Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge conveyed warm wishes to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on its Foundation Day. Rahul Gandhi praised the CISF personnel for their dedication in safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring national security. He commended their sacrifice, courage, and commitment to protecting India, calling them a source of pride and inspiration.
Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed gratitude to the CISF for their longstanding service in securing the nation’s strategic assets. He lauded the force for its professionalism, courage, and swift response during crises, which have saved numerous lives. The Congress party joined in saluting the CISF personnel for their unwavering dedication in safeguarding vital infrastructure across the country, emphasizing their role as a pillar of national security.
The CISF Raising Day is celebrated to honor the force’s contribution to protecting industrial establishments and key infrastructure in India. Established in 1969 under an Act of the Parliament, the CISF initially provided security to Central Government-owned industries. Over time, its mandate expanded to include joint-venture enterprises with Central Government stakes. Operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the CISF was created in response to the need for enhanced security following the 1965 India-Pakistan war.
