Amid challenges faced by the new Congress government in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge arrived in Bengaluru to back Kharge’s Rajya Sabha nomination. They were welcomed by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, State Congress President B.K. Hariprasad, and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Rahul Gandhi, along with senior leaders, participated in the nomination filing event at Vidhana Soudha. Later, he planted a sapling at the airport before the event. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, and other leaders were also present.
In a recent development, Minister Ramalinga Reddy announced his resignation from the Karnataka Cabinet, citing disagreements over portfolio allocation. This move follows dissatisfaction expressed by Minister K. H. Muniyappa over his ministry assignment, urging party intervention to address the issue.
