Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, urged for a fair and transparent investigation into the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, on January 28 in Baramati. Gandhi supported the Pawar family’s plea for a thorough inquiry into the incident, suspected by some as a deliberate act against the late NCP leader. He emphasized the need for adherence to legal norms and the urgency of initiating an impartial probe.
The demand for scrutiny arises from a private aircraft crash involving the senior NCP figure, prompting both state and central authorities to launch investigations. Despite the involvement of the CID and CBI, delays in the investigative process have fueled speculations within political circles. An NCP delegation, led by a Minister and MLAs, pressed for an accelerated inquiry, underscoring the significance of resolving uncertainties surrounding the crash.
Rohit Pawar, echoing the call for a comprehensive investigation, highlighted the adverse weather conditions prevailing during the incident. He alleged that the pilot had warned against take-off due to poor visibility, but was instructed to proceed by the aircraft owner. These revelations have added complexity to the case, necessitating a meticulous examination to ascertain the true nature of the tragedy.
