Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, voiced concerns during a debate on three bills, alleging that the government is using the women’s reservation bill as a cover for its own agenda rather than focusing on women’s empowerment. He emphasized the need to revert to the original Women’s Reservation Bill of 2023 for their support.

Gandhi criticized the government for allegedly sidelining the caste census by exploiting the women’s quota, which he believes is depriving marginalized and OBC communities of their rightful representation in the House. He accused the government of misusing reservations to further its political objectives.

Expressing apprehensions about the government’s motives, Gandhi accused the BJP of attempting to alter the country’s electoral landscape to maintain its political dominance. He highlighted concerns about the diminishing representation of certain regions in the Lok Sabha post the delimitation exercise, asserting the Congress party’s strong opposition to the bills.
