Congress leader Rahul Gandhi interacted with IT professionals, startup founders, and technocrats at Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram. The event, themed “Technology, Innovation and Opportunity,” attracted around 200 invited IT experts, showcasing Kerala’s tech workforce’s interest in engaging with political leaders. Gandhi emphasized the importance of skills, innovation, and manufacturing for India’s economic future.

Reflecting on the impact of technological advancements, Gandhi highlighted the need to prepare the workforce for emerging opportunities. He stressed the significance of continuous learning and adaptability in the face of automation and artificial intelligence. Gandhi also underlined the importance of developing skills to align with the evolving job landscape and technological changes.

Recalling his father’s vision for promoting software development in India, Gandhi emphasized the transformation of India into a global IT powerhouse. He expressed concerns about global supply chains and the need for India to enhance its manufacturing capabilities. Gandhi advocated for a shift towards a production- and manufacturing-oriented economy to reduce dependency on imports and foster domestic growth.

Gandhi also addressed the democratization of technological growth, advocating for reforms to support small businesses and startups. He highlighted the importance of data privacy, especially in the context of expanding digital technologies. Gandhi praised India’s ability to innovate and create order out of chaos, drawing inspiration from Kerala’s social reformer Sree Narayana Guru’s teachings on self-awareness and discipline.

Expressing gratitude to the people of Kerala for their support, Gandhi emphasized the values of compassion and respect for all living beings. He concluded the session by emphasizing Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of compassion as the foundation for achieving lasting prosperity. The event marked Gandhi’s first interaction with technology professionals at Technopark, showcasing the growing interest among young professionals in shaping India’s economic and technological future.
