Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, along with Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari and Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar, visited Indore to meet families impacted by the recent outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea in Bhagirathpura due to contaminated water. Rahul Gandhi initially interacted with patients at Bombay Hospital before meeting affected families in the area. The families of deceased individuals were given a compensation cheque of Rs 1 lakh each.
Umang Singhar, during the visit, distributed the compensation cheques and assured the families of further financial support. Rahul Gandhi expressed solidarity with the affected families and promised to raise their concerns with the state government. Singhar’s office also confirmed providing Rs 50,000 to each of the 24 affected families in Bhagirathpura where 24 individuals lost their lives due to the contaminated water outbreak.
