The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, received a warm welcome at Mysuru Airport in Karnataka by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar, and other Congress leaders. He was greeted with shawls and bouquets before departing for Ooty in Tamil Nadu for a private event ahead of Pongal. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah mentioned that Rahul Gandhi would return to Delhi after his visit to Gudalur near Ooty.
When questioned about political speculations, CM Siddaramaiah dismissed them as media-created, emphasizing that there was no confusion within the party. He also addressed statements regarding the Chief Minister’s post, clarifying that decisions would be made by the Congress High Command. Additionally, Siddaramaiah mentioned a special Cabinet meeting to discuss matters related to the CM’s post and upcoming state budget presentation in March.
Regarding the BJP and JD-S alliance for local body polls, Siddaramaiah expressed confidence, stating that the alliance would not impact the Congress party. He highlighted the importance of votes for and against the Congress party in the upcoming political contest.
