Hours before the Ambubachi Mela begins, senior railway officials conducted a thorough inspection at Kamakhya Railway Station to assess readiness and passenger management for the religious event. The Northeast Frontier Railway’s General Manager reviewed the arrangements for the annual event, which is expected to draw devotees from various parts of the country. The Ambubachi Mela, starting at Kamakhya Temple, will run from June 22 to June 26.
During the inspection, the General Manager evaluated the facilities in place for the convenience and safety of pilgrims, including crowd control, passenger amenities, cleanliness, medical assistance, and security. Special unreserved train services have been arranged by NFR to accommodate the influx of devotees, with regular passenger trains also being augmented for increased capacity. The focus remains on passenger safety, cleanliness, and efficient service delivery throughout the festival period.
To ensure a smooth travel experience, officials are instructed to maintain vigilance, coordinate with security agencies, and monitor passenger movement closely. The railway is committed to providing a hassle-free journey for all passengers attending the Ambubachi Mela, with a strong emphasis on safety and comfort.
