In a significant anti-corruption move, the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau apprehended Nadoti Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kajal Meena, along with her Reader Dinesh Kumar Saini and Senior Assistant Praveen Dhakad, red-handed while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 60,000 in Karauli district. The ACB’s action followed a complaint accusing the SDM and her Reader of soliciting a bribe for issuing a land partition decree.
The complainant reported that an initial demand of Rs 1 lakh was made, which was later negotiated down to Rs 50,000. Subsequently, the ACB conducted a covert verification during which the Reader allegedly asked for Rs 50,000 on behalf of the SDM and an extra Rs 10,000 for himself. A trap was set on April 16 at the SDM office in Nadoti, where the bribe was handed over.
The ACB team, under the supervision of ACB Deputy Inspector General Dr. Rameshwar Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police Gyan Singh Chaudhary, confirmed the SDM’s involvement through a recorded mobile conversation where she allegedly agreed to the bribe. The accused were caught red-handed, and an additional Rs 4 lakh, found in the bribe bag, is currently under investigation for its source.
